SOURCE: MUSIC OF THE AVANT GARDE -DISC #5- LOWELL CROSS/ARRIGO LORA-TOTINO (SOURCE RECORDS, 1971)
Disc 5 of the 6 10" lp's from the Source Magazine. This time, an electronic piece (video ii (b) / (c) / (l)) by Lowell Cross (who invented the laser light show and made pink floyd mad money) and "Sonic Poetry" by Arrigo Lora Totino called "English Phonemes". The first composition is a fantastic piece of electronic drone music. The latter is a composition of strange word association reminiscent of the screw themed "Maledetto" by Kenneth Gaburo, written around the same time (1971) although Totino takes the process in a different direction by manipulating the speech with the aid of electronics.
SOURCE: MUSIC OF THE AVANT GARDE -DISC #4-LARRY AUSTIN/STANLEY LUNETTA (SOURCE RECORDS, 1971)
Companion disc(#4)to one of the 10 issues of the incredible "Source Magazine". The publication focused solely on radical Avant Garde music of the time. The corresponding radio broadcast to these artists can be found at Archive.org. The magazine was founded by Larry Austin and his music is featured on this disc, as well as Stanley Lunetta. Pretty freaked out stuff.
